Hoffeld (Hoffeld), Marilyn Lee (Lee), Deja Ostrowski (Ostrowski), Terri Ann Motosue (Motosue), Stacey Moniz (Moniz) Excused: Kaua'i Commissioner - Vacant Public: Farrah -Marie Gomes, Chair, Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women Staff: Khara Jabola-Carlous (Jabola-Carolus) I. Public Comment a. No public comment via written testimony. II. Executive Director's Report A. Khara Jabola-Carolus - NACW Conference July 19-22, 2020 in Leesburg, Virginia - CANCELED. 1. HSCSW will pay the annual membership NACW registration for each county: a. County of Hawaii Committee on the Status of Women ($100) b. County of Maui Committee on the Status of Women ($100) c. County of Kaua'i Committee on the Status of Women ($100) d. County of Honolulu Committee on the Status of Women ($200) 2. Farrah- Marie Gomes will check on the budget and if the amount is okay for HSCSW to pay their NACW annual dues. B. Legislation 1. Supplemental budget - Items are being reviewed if no funding attached. 2. Session will restart in June. C. Budget updates 1. HSCSW budget has about $300 which will go to bills. D. Safety Issues for Survivors of Assault 1. There is concern about the early release of individuals charged sexual assault, including first degree sexual assault other sexual violence -related crimes such as violation of privacy, have been granted COVID=19 "humanitarian" release. III. Executive Session A. The Commission went into Executive Session to discuss Jabola-Carolus's appointment as Executive Director which has been extended for another two years to June 30, 2022. VII.
