NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND THE FIRE COMMISSION'S RULES
Pursuant to § 91-3, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will
be held by the Fire Commission of the County of Hawaii ("Commission") for the purpose of
considering proposed amendments to the Rules and Regulations of the Commission at the date, time,
and location indicated below.
Date: June 30, 2022
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Place: West Hawaii Civic Center, Building A Council Chambers

The proposed amendments include the following:
Amendment to Rule 5(B)(1): Changes regular meetings from the second Wednesday of each
month to the fourth Thursday of each month, unless otherwise specified by the Commission.
Amendment to Rule 8(a): Extends the time to file a complaint from (60) days to (90) days from
the date of the incident.
The purpose of the hearing is to afford all persons desiring to express their views, arguments, or submit
data on the above matter may do so by submitting statements in writing to the Fire Commission, two
days before the date of the public hearing. Anyone interested may appear in person to submit their
data, views, or arguments orally before the Commission at the hearing. All written comments should
be mailed or delivered to the Commission at 101 Pauahi St., Ste. 9, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, or e-mailed
to Charisse.Correa@hawaiicounty.gov, at least two days before the hearing. The Commission may
make a decision to adopt these amended rules during its monthly meeting immediately following the
public hearing.

Hilo, Hawaii, 96720, Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Interested persons may call
