Box #) (Town/City) (State) (Zip Code) In consideration of the permission granted to me by the County of Hawai'i, State of Hawai'i, to participate in the Annual Richardson Roughwater Swim at Richardson Ocean Park, on Sunday, October 22, 2023, I hereby release the County of Hawai'i, the State of Hawai'i, Department of Land and Natural Resources, and Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation, its agents, independent contractors, and employees, as well as all organizers, race officials, and volunteers of the Annual Richardson Roughwater Swim from all actions, causes of action, damages, injuries, claims or demands, which I, my heirs, personal representatives, or assignees may have against the County of Hawai'i, the State of Hawai'i, or the volunteers and race officials, and other above -named parties for all injuries, known or unknown, which I may incur by my participation in the Annual Richardson Roughwater Swim or by my use of the Richardson Ocean Park. I do further agree that I shall indemnify and save harmless the County of Hawai'i and State of Hawai'i, or any of its officers or employees, eitherjointly or severally, from any and all claims, demands, damages, loss of service, or expense for property damage and for personal injuries or actions brought by a third party resulting or arising from my participation in the Annual Richardson Roughwater Swim or my use of the Richardson Ocean Park. CHECK -IN: 7:45 a.m.- 8:45 a.m. COURSE: Approximately 1 mile. Start at the beach (left of lifeguard stand), swim out the channel entrance; round buoy to the LEFT and swim towards Wai'olena. Swim towards 3rd buoy for turn- around and continue back on same course rounding channel buoy on your RIGHT (see map below). EQUIPMENT: You may swim with or without fins; any swimmer wishing to use a snorkel, or other equipment, must register in the FINS category. Please indicate category on entry form. No flotation devices, wet suits or hand gloves / paddles may be used. AWARDS: Awards will be given for first place in the FINLESS categories only. Age group breakdown: 10-14 years (Keiki), 15-19 years, 20-34 years, 35-49 years, 50-64 years (Masters), 65+ (Seniors), 80+ (Kupuna) ENTRY FEE: $30.00, received or postmarked Mail Entry to: 2023 Roughwater Swim by October 10, 2023. Please indicate size on entry form. **Shirts are limited in quantity** COURSE CONDITIONS: The Richardson Roughwater Swim is held on a 1 (one) -mile course in open ocean conditions. This is an event for swimmers with strong swimming skills. There are rocks and there may be waves breaking over an outside reef near the channel entrance and ocean swells with strong current along coastline. There will be course marshals and buoys marking the course.
