HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-03-04 Liquor Adjudication Board Fact Sheet03/04/26 LIQUOR CONTROL ADJUDICATION BOARD Purpose: To hear and determine complaints regarding violations of Chapter 281 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended; and Rules and Regulations of the Liquor Commission; to impose penalties as provided by law. Authority: Hawai'i County Charter, Section 7-3.3. Rules and Regulations of the Liquor Adjudication Board, Department of Liquor Control, County of Hawai'i, State of Hawai'i. Appointment: By Mayor and confirmed by Council. Five-year staggered terms. Full Membership: Five (5) Members. Specific Representation: None required. Requirements: No more than three shall belong officially to same political party. Meetings: Third Thursday of the month as workload requires, at the Liquor Control Meeting Room in Hilo and Kona. Financial Disclosure: Members must file Financial Disclosure within 20 working days of taking the Oath of Office. Thereafter, annual disclosures must be filed on or before January 31 St. Disclosures are confidential and will be kept on file by the Board of Ethics. County Code, Chapter 2, Section 2-91.1. Reappointment: Following term expiration, no member may be reappointed for at least two years unless initial term was for two years or less. Qualities: Respected as being community -minded and oriented. Able to focus on the community needs as a whole without catering to special or self-interest.
