DATE: Wednesday, May 14, 2008 TIME: 2:00 p.m. PLACE: Department of Parks and Recreation Conference Room, Aupuni Center, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite #6, Hilo, HawaiÒi CALL TO ORDER ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS 1.Introduction of Christian Kay to represent the Planning Director 2.Distribution of Ethics Guide for Hawai`i County Officers and Employees 3.Acceptance of Minutes for March 19, 2008 and April 23, 2008 meet PUBLIC STATEMENTS UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1.Status of Exceptional Tree Signage Project a.Status of sign post procurement b.Status of letter to confirm commitment from County departmentÓs and State agencies to install exceptional tree signs 2.Status of Installing the Tree Signs at the Puna Mango Groves 3.Discuss the Proposal to Submit Grant Requests to Kaulunani Council 4.Discuss the Exceptional Tree Assessment Protocol a.Status from sub-committee of accepting form created by Fred Fogel to document work on exceptional trees b.Proposal to Corporation Counsel regarding the current need for research and assessment of trees, including possible site visits NEW BUSINESS 1.Review Notice of Pruning from Big Island Tree Service for the Indian Banyan at Kalkaua Park ANNOUNCEMENTS ADJOURNMENT Information related to the above matters is on file in the office of the Planning Department in the Aupuni Center, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3, Hilo, HawaiÒi, and in the Planning DepartmentÓs West Hawaii Office at 75-5706 Kuakini Highway, Suite l09, in Kailua-Kona, HawaiÒi, and is open to inspection during office hours. Any disabled person requiring special assistance or person requiring auxiliary aid and/or services to participate in the hearing should contact the Planning Department at 961-8288 five (5) working days prior to the hearing so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
