DATE: Wednesday, April 23, 2008 TIME: 10:00 a.m. PLACE: Planning Department Conference Room, Aupuni Center, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite #3, Hilo, Hawai‘i CALL TO ORDER ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS Acceptance of Minutes for January 16, 2008 and March 19, 2008 meetings PUBLIC STATEMENTS UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1.Discuss Signage for Exceptional Trees a.Status of request for funding from County Council b.Status of letter to confirm commitment from State and County agencies to install exceptional tree signs 2.Status of Installing the Tree Signs for the Mango Groves 3.Discuss the Proposal to Submit Grant Requests to Kaulunani Council 4.Discuss the Exceptional Tree Assessment Protocol a.Status from sub-committee of accepting form created by Fred Fogel to document work on exceptional trees b.Proposal to Corporation Counsel regarding the current need for research and assessment of trees, including possible site visits 5.Discuss Land Ownership Changes and how New Owners are Notified of Exceptional Trees a.Review and finalize letter submitted by S. Stanbro NEW BUSINESS ANNOUNCEMENTS ADJOURNMENT Information related to the above matters is on file in the office of the Planning Department in the Aupuni Center, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3, Hilo, Hawai‘i, and in the Planning Department’s West Hawaii Office at 75-5706 Kuakini Highway, Suite l09, in Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, and is open to inspection during office hours. Any disabled person requiring special assistance or person requiring auxiliary aid and/or services to participate in the hearing should contact the Planning Department at 961-8288 five (5) working days prior to the hearing so that appropriate arrangements can be made. If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawai‘i County Clerk within five days of becoming a lobbyist. {Article 15, Section 2-91.3(b), Hawai‘i County Code} A lobbyist means, “any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials.” {Article 15, Section 2-91.3(a)(6), Hawai‘i County Code} Registration forms and expenditure report documents are available at the Office of the County Clerk-Council 333 nd Kilauea Avenue (Ben Franklin Building) 2 Floor, Hilo, Hawai‘i 96720.
