TREASURER'S REPORT P. Barry explained expenses from Poster Contest and asked for reimbursement for mileage and luncheon. A. Moon made motion to reimburse for expe seconded, motion passed. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC Julia, mother of victim of domestic abuse, voiced concern for da policeman. L. Slutter referred Julia to TPFF for help. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. Website - Sharon Spilman, 887-0322. B. County Newsletter - FVAC has had something published the last th th Articles need to be written like newspaper articles (8 grade level), and commission will address that issue. C. Special Ads/Theater Ads - No report. D. "No excuse for abuse" performance - P. Barry reported that Jerry was just as successful as his ice performance. Video on this pe coming out. Good feedback from schools. A. Moon recommended th from commission budget be used to purchase unedited copy of this D. Auldridge made a motion, A. Moon seconded. Motion passed. P follow up. A. Moon made a motion to allocate funds to make a copy of the vi D. Auldridge seconded. Motion passed. D. Auldridge stated that funding requests come in from various agencies/individuals, the should receive a copy of the product, or sample of the product i funding. D. Auldridge made a motion, L. Slutter seconded. Moti REPORTS A. DVIAT - L. Slutter reported that E. Hawaii is trying to coordina the Legal Procedures meetings and regular meetings to include bo island so that they can work more closely together, hopefully mo W. Hawaii - D. Auldridge reported that primary focus of the West was a recap of the strategic planning session held in December, address the legislative task force from West Hawaii for the DV C has been named the representative. Funding opportunities are be for the task force expenses. L. Slutter reported that Legal Procedures meeting will be Feb. 9 at CFS. Public Awareness meeting will be Feb. 11, at 1:00 pm, a East Hawaii DVIAT meeting Feb. 23, 12:00 noon at YMCA. Minutes from both East and West Hawaii are being shared via Laura Steven Women's Center to increase communication between the two groups. groups are encouraged to forward their agenda and meeting minute P. Barry reported that Hale Ola Kau is donating $300 to TPFF to round trip transportation for K. Soo to attend legislative task Honolulu. B. DV101 - L. Lord reported that power point presentation would be pages. Presentation will have to be condensed. D. Auldridge su combination of power point and handouts be used; power point use picture overview, the handouts used to beef up particular areas. how much funding would be necessary for this project. Discussio concerning what groups would be targeted for the power point pre the overall goals of the committee; who would do the actual work together, then who would be doing the presentations. D. Auldrid that this committee meet, then come back to the commission with recommendations. C. LAWS/POLICY REFORM - K. Kudlo absent, report deferred. D. PUBLIC RELATIONS - A. Moon reported that the two venues used in hosting Make A Difference Day in support of domestic violence ar this year (Crossroads Shopping Center in Kona and Keaau Shopping 2 She suggested the committee look for other venues available to u Domestic Violence Awareness Month. E. POSTER COMPETITION - P. Barry read thank you letter that was sen Waikoloa Marriott. Discussion was held on future correspondence made and seconded that when something is initiated at a meeting, having to wait for quorum to get approval for correspondence (i. letter), a draft will be sent to members via email, and members respond. If there is no response, the draft will be sent as a l P. Barry also read the thank you letter that was sent to the new P. Barry reported that all the posters have been laminated and w in banks in West Hawaii. F. GAPS/CONCERNS/SOLUTIONS - P. Barry reported that the Mayor will be getting back to her on various issues he is presently addressing Prosecutor's Office, Police Dept., etc. She also informed the c Mayor asked for two reports, and the commission should look over report and start putting the new one together. ARTICLES TO SHARE - Hawaii State Coalition - two reports will be the commission (Membership Meeting and Legislative Meeting). Motion was made by L. Lord and seconded by D. Auldridge to go in Session. EXECUTIVE SESSION After Executive Session adjourned, Wendell Hatada told the commi application that is available through the Hawaii County Resource Motion was made and seconded to change meeting date from Februar February 26.
