MINUTES
PRESENT Karen Kudlo, Vice Chair, Dorothee Auldridge, Linda Slutter, Le
Karen Wolfe
ABSENT Patti Barry, Linda Halsted, Emily Naeole, Kelly Soo, Jacquelin
K. Kudlo reminded commissioners that if they will not be attendi

CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair K. Kudlo called the meeting to order.

Comments were made in favor of summary minutes as opposed to ver

K. Kudlo questioned the amount used in the Advertising Account,

A. PUBLIC HEARING Î BY-LAWS
Motion was made and seconded to accept/adopt the by-laws as they

A. DV-101 Î COURSE CURRICULUM

B. LAWS AND POLICY REFORM
K. Kudlo reported on the Model Code on Domestic and Family Viole

both volunteered to help the commission learn about the law maki

the commission with recommendations about which areas they shoul
attention. K. Kudlo volunteered to get a copy of the Model Code
of this committee for comparison to HawaiiÓs Code and overall re

C. PUBLIC RELATIONS

E. FUNDRAISER/GRANTS
D. Auldridge suggested that the commission should identify a pro
goal that needs funding before doing any fundraising efforts. K

L. Lord: ÐÈ.Fundraising doesnÓt work unless you know what you w

K. Kudlo said that the commission would be getting funds from th

Discussion was held on funds and projects. L. Slutter reiterate
comments on the role of the commission. She questioned the need
funds. D. Auldridge said that one of the other goals of the com

A. MONEY LEFT OVER IN THE BUDGET
K. Kudlo asked for ideas to use money in the current budget befo

that money in the current budget can be used for.
B. REIMBURSEMENT FOR MATERIAL COSTS FOR DV-101
There will be no material costs for the DV-101 training. If the

ANNOUNCEMENTS
K. Kudlo reported that the Domestic Violence Fundraising Dinner
at the Royal Kona Resort at 6:00 p.m., $40 a person, and encoura
members to attend, possibly be introduced as a group.
K. Kudlo saw a flyer about an Elder Abuse Training, and will try
on what it was about.

K. Kudlo told the commissioners about her store (Treasure Island
proceeds going to a shelter. She told the commissioners that if
