If you were a victim of negligent injury, assault, sexual assault, kidnapping, abuse
of family and household member, or international terrorism,
you may receive compensation for medical and mental health counseling
expenses, lost earnings or support that were not covered by other sources.
If you are a relative of a victim of murder, manslaughter or negligent homicide,
you may be able to recover some of the funeral or medical expenses that were a
result of the crime and not covered by other sources.

The Victim /Witness Assistance Unit of the Prosecutor's Office can
• Provide information about the case status and the court system
• Help you file a claim for crime victim compensation (see other side)
• Let you know about your rights as a victim
• Refer you to community services
• Support you at court and help you give input about the impact of the
crime.
