CALL TO ORDER & ANNOUNCEMENTS: Commission Chair Anne Lee called the meeti <br />to order at 9:15 a.m. and announced the location of the site visit during this meeting. She also <br />noted that the meeting was moved ftom the Aupuni Center Conference Room (ACCR) as <br />scheduled to the Department conference room because of walk-in voting taking place in the <br />ACCR. <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF AUGUST 27,2014 MEETING: <br />Commissioner Thom Randle moved to approve the September 24,2014 minutes as writte <br />Commissioner Susie Osborne seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimo <br />usly with <br />members present: Lee, Lim, Nahm-Mijo, Osborne, Randle and Warner voting yes. I <br />4. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS LISTED ON AGENDA: <br />Christine Dochin approached the Hawai'i Water Service Company regarding the commission <br />doing a site visit at their Waikoloa Beach Resort Wastewater Treatment Plant. Christine provided <br />a letter from Mr. Mike Mares, General Manager, agreeing to accommodate the commission at the <br />November 26, 2014 meeting (attached to original minutes). <br />5. CORRESPONDENCE/REPORTSIDISCUSSION: <br />0 Director's Re -port (attached to original minutes): <br />Current Legislation <br />Bill 194 was sent to full council with a negative recommendation from the Finance Committee. It <br />to be agendized at a November Council meeting. <br />Wastewater Division <br />1. COMPLIANCE: <br />A. Treatment and Disposal: <br />Hilo Outfall: WWD has begun work to comply with the EPA Order of Compliance section of <br />Docket No. CWA-309(a)- 14-005. The Order items relate to the Outfall repair and monitoring; <br />and an assessment of the Hilo WWTP. <br />Hilo WWTP NPDES Permit: <br />- WWD is contesting the proposed DOH draft of the NPDES permit. A motion and stay <br />petition will be filed next week with the DOH hearing officer as the county feels the <br />requirements are unachievable.
