CALL TO ORDER& ANNOUNCEMENTS: Commission Chair Anne Lee called the meeting <br /> to order at 9:05 a.m. and announced the location of the site visit during this meeting. <br /> 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF AUGUST 27,2014 MEETING: <br /> Commissioner Sherm Warner moved to approve the August 27,2014 minutes as written. <br /> Commissioner Susie Osborne seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously with <br /> members present: Fear,Lee,Lim,Osborne,and Warner voting yes. <br /> 3. APPROVAL OF ADDENDUM AND/OR SUPPLEMENTAL AGENDA: None <br /> 4. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS LISTED ON AGENDA: None <br /> 5. CORRESPONDENCE/REPORTS/DISCUSSION: <br /> • Director's Report(attached to original minutes): <br /> Current Legislation <br /> Bill 194 was postponed to the Call of the Chair at the 9/16/14 Finance Committee. Commissioner <br /> Osborne made a motion to submit a letter in support of Bill 194 and a request to put it back on <br /> the Finance Committee agenda. Commissioner Fear seconded the motion and it passed <br /> unanimously with members present: Fear,Lee, Lim,Nahm-Mijo,Osborne,Randle and <br /> Warner voting yes. <br /> Wastewater Division <br /> 1. COMPLIANCE: <br /> A. Treatment and Disposal: <br /> - Ulu Wini: The County received Notice of Apparent Violations(NOVs) from DOH on July 21, <br /> 2014. Another NOV was received August 28, 2014. There will potentially be more NOVs <br /> and possibly fines to the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) for permit <br /> non compliance of this wastewater system. The Department is taking over operation of this <br /> facility from OHCD. <br /> 4. WASTEWATER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS: <br /> A. Na`alehu Large Capacity Cesspool Replacement: <br /> - Department participated in a phone conference with EPA regarding the progress of the <br /> project. <br /> - A community meeting is tentatively set for November when the Draft Environmental <br /> Assessment is issued for public comment. <br /> B. Pahala Large Capacity Cesspool Replacement <br /> County of Hawai`i is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. <br />
