Plans for single- or two family dwellings are not required to show <br /> plumbing piping plans or diagrams unless requested by the authority having <br /> jurisdiction. <br /> Exception: <br /> For single and two-family dwellings and residential accessory structures, plans and <br /> specifications may be prepared, designed, and stamped by a person who is licensed in <br /> the State of Hawaii as an architect or professional mechanical engineer. <br /> (i) Plumbing plans and diagrams shall be required for R-3 single and two family dwellings <br /> and townhouses that include four or more bathrooms. <br /> (j) The authority having jurisdiction may require plans, computations, and specifications <br /> to be prepared, designed, and stamped by a person who is licensed in the State of <br /> Hawaii as an architect or professional engineer, if prescriptive requirements of the <br /> construction code are not being adhered to. <br /> (k) No person shall materially deviate from any reviewed plan or specifications or fail, <br /> neglect or refuse to comply herewith, unless permission to do so has first been obtained <br /> from the person who is licensed in the State of Hawaii and listed as the architect or <br /> professional engineer of record. Revised drawings or a letter, or both, that show such <br /> deviations and have have been prepared, designed, and stamped by the architect or <br /> professional engineer of record, shall be submitted to the authority having jurisdiction <br /> for review and approval. <br /> Section 5-4-4. Contractors and specialty contractors; work. <br /> (a) Prior to issuance of a permit, applicants for a permit shall file a statement with the <br /> authority having jurisdiction that includes the following: <br /> (1) Name; address, email address and telephone number of each contractor or <br /> specialty contractor engaged to work upon the building, structure, or project; <br /> (2) Name of the responsible managing employee or authorized employee of each <br /> contractor or specialty contractor; <br /> (3) Phase or phases of work to be performed by each contractor or specialty <br /> contractor; <br /> (4) License numbers for each contractor or specialty contractor and a statement that <br /> such licenses are in full force and effect, or if the applicant is exempt from <br /> chapter 444, Hawaii Revised Statutes, the basis for the claimed exemption, <br /> pursuant to section 444-9.1, Hawaii Revised Statutes; and <br /> (5) A signature by the responsible managing employee or authorized employee of <br /> each contractor and specialty contractor. <br /> (b) Whenever used in this section, in accordance with section 444-7, Hawaii Revised <br /> Statutes, "specialty contractor" means a contractor whose operations as such are the <br /> 31 <br />
