No. 698-20 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:03 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 698-20, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 698-20, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 1017 <br /> dated July 17, 2020, creates two new Cultural Technician positions for the Department of Parks and <br /> Recreation. <br /> This resolution establishes one full-time and one half-time position to provide natural, cultural, and <br /> historical interpretive information of Waipi`o Valley and monitor vehicles accessing the road. <br /> Finance Director Deanna Sako addressed Your Committee sharing that these positions have been <br /> budgeted as temporary contracted positions for the past five years, and pursuant to the Department of <br /> Human Resources said positions need to be permanently created at this time.
