J+tv os H,W, <br /> 7 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII . , -'►;',:#.4* STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 44.r•µr1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 724 20 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br /> INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII'S HAWAII <br /> NATURAL ENERGY INSTITUTE FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br /> DONATION OF A HYDROGEN BUS <br /> WHEREAS, the University of Hawaii's Hawaii Natural Energy Institute is <br /> donating a 2014 Eldorado Aero Elite 29-passenger bus (hydrogen bus) to the County of <br /> Hawaii's Mass Transit Agency; and <br /> WHEREAS, the bus will be used as part of the Mass Transit Agency's <br /> transportation fleet; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii will not be obligated to pay a service and <br /> handling fee, but will be required to pay for the cost of shipping from Oahu; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, this Council's <br /> consent is required to enter into this agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts <br /> or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution <br /> approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii's Mass Transit Agency recommends the <br /> acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br />
