v�tvosp, , <br /> • _n 1111//y <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> •� �''�-��'���• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ; : . . <br /> • ,rE•OF MF'� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7 7 5 20 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT <br /> AWARD OF $177,193.75 FROM THE CENTER FOR TECH AND <br /> CIVIC LIFE TO ASSIST WITH SAFE AND SECURE ELECTION <br /> ADMINISTRATION FOR THE 2020 UNITED STATES ELECTIONS <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has been selected to receive a <br /> $177,193.75 grant award from the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL); and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used for the purpose of planning and <br /> operationalizing safe and secure election administration for the 2020 United <br /> States Elections during the COVID-19 pandemic; and <br /> WHEREAS, CTCL is a national 501(c)(3) organization that offers election <br /> officials affordable opportunities and resources to connect Americans with <br /> information they need to become and remain civically engaged and ensure that <br /> elections are professional, inclusive and secure; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of <br /> money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in <br /> real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property <br /> which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may <br /> be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the County Clerk recommends the acceptance <br /> of this grant award; now, therefore, <br />
