REQUEST: 961-0466 A resolution to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General We are requesting the Council's permission to accept federal funds passed through the State of Hawai'i from the Federal Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance. The amount of funds.accepted would be $163,092. These funds would be used for to pay fora Contract, Supplies, Equipment and Other Costs to assist the Prosecutor's Office in preventing, preparing for and responding to the, coronavirus. These funds would be used in the period October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021. These funds wily be used to pay for: 1) a contracted person to."develop a process to handle the backlog of defendants that will come through the court once the court room fully opens to all cases again, 2) Plexiglass/wood/hardware to construct dividers in'the office for health safety reasons, 2.) Laptop computers/projections screen/video conferencing equipment for staff to use for communication regarding cases. We request to amend Ordinance 20-45 as amended, the Operating Budget for The County of Hawaii for the fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2021. This would include amending the budget to appropriate the funds to _the project and creating a general ledger revenue account and expenditure account for the funds. The name of the program is `CESF 2" We are requesting the waiving of further reading so as to expedite this process as time is an issue for this project. . B.
