C O 11LJNTY OF HAWAI `I <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAI `I <br />40 21 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br />DONATION OF SIX (6) INTOXILYZER 8000 BREATH TEST <br />INSTRUMENTS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT. <br />WHEREAS, the County of Maui Police Department is donating six (6) Intoxilyzer <br />8000 Breath Test Instruments to the County of Hawaii Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS►, the Intoxilyzer 8000 Breath Test Instruments, valued at $42,000, will be <br />used to assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the units already placed in nine locations <br />within Hawai `i County; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, ►3ection 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br />council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and <br />WHEREAS►, the Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, <br />th crefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in <br />accordance with Ar►.icle XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of <br />ffiwai`i, accepts this donation. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this <br />resolution be sent to Tivoli S. Faaumu, Chief of Police, Maui Police Department, 55 Mahalani <br />Street, Wailuku, HI 96793. <br />
