REQUEST: <br /> The Department of Public Works Traffic Division is requesting a resolution authorizing the payment of funds <br /> of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal year for a multi-year lease of one (1) large Two-Man Bucket <br /> Truck for the Signals and Street Lights section.The lease to purchase would be for a period of no more than <br /> five (5)years. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The large two-man bucket truck will be used islandwide for performing maintenance of heavier traffic signal <br /> items (e.g. traffic signal heads) in which the work would require assistance from a second person in the <br /> bucket. Currenty, two single-man bucket trucks are used to perform the maintenance of these heavier signal <br /> items. The new equipment will increase productivity and improve efficiency of the Traffic Signal& Street <br /> Light crew in repairing and maintaining existing traffic signals and street lights. <br /> The two-man bucket truck will also be used for training in the field in which the supervisor can work <br /> alongside the trainee in the same bucket. <br /> This lease is for a period of no more than five (5) years. The purchase price is approximately $320,000.00. <br /> The estimated lease cost is approximately$5,333.00 per month or$63,996.00 annually.
