COUNTY OF HAWAII •' �• <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br />DONATION OF MOSAIC ALPHABET TILE BOARDS TO THE <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION. <br />WHEREAS, Gerdine Markus is donating 26 mosaic alphabet tile boards to the <br />County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation; and <br />WHEREAS, Gerdine Markus and 11 other local artists collaborated to create the <br />mosaic tile boards; and <br />WHEREAS, the mosaic alphabet tile boards, valued at $12,000, will be placed on <br />pillars surrounding Lincoln Park; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br />council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this <br />donation; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII,, in <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of <br />Hawaii, accepts this donation. <br />
