-40 <br />COUNTY OF HAWAIII <br />IN a 06 : 9 0 1 �18 � <br />WHEREAS, Malarna Wai'aha, in collaboration with Hawaii resident Michael <br />Denney is donating two historical signs to the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and <br />Recreation; and <br />WHEREAS, the two historical signs, valued at approximately $10,000, will be <br />located at Wai'aha Beach Park to commemorate the birthplace of the bodyboard; and <br />WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br />council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this <br />donation; now, therefore, <br />accordance with Article X111, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of <br />Hawaii, accepts this donation. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this <br />resolution be sent to Malama Wai'aha, c/o 75-5789 Makamae Place, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. <br />
