BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION(USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> Pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes§46-7, the County may enter into agreements with 'any public body" <br /> with the consent of Council, R&0 is requesting that Council approve a resolution authori:dng R& D to enter <br /> into an agreement with the i-lawail Tourism Authority, a public body, for the purposes of-establishing a <br /> mutual agreement on roles and responsibilities during the Hawaii island Destination Management Plan <br /> (DMAP) implementation phase, pursuant to HCC 2-139(3)(0. <br /> The DMAP contains specific actions and sub-actions that address the goals and objectives of the Hawaii <br /> Island Tourism Strategic Plan.
