a• <br /> sk <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -+� �.''"=' / • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> OF.M►' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 335 22 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO NEGOTIATE AN <br /> EIGHTEEN YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY,A PORTION OF 34 RAINBOW <br /> DRIVE (OLD HILO HOSPITAL), SITUATED AT PI`IHONUA, SOUTH HILO, <br /> COUNTY AND STATE OF HAWAII,AND IDENTIFIED AS A PORTION OF TAX <br /> MAP KEY: (3) 2-3-026:008, TO HOPE SERVICES HAWAI'I, INC. <br /> WHEREAS,the County of Hawai`i,pursuant to Executive Order 3773, has control and <br /> management of real property located at 34 Rainbow Drive, Hilo, County and State of Hawai`i, <br /> known as the Old Hilo Hospital Complex, identified as Tax Map Key (3) 2-3-026:008 for the <br /> public purpose of providing a Government Office and Community Services Site; and <br /> WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., a non-profit organization, desires to <br /> negotiate an eighteen(18)year lease for the period October 7, 2019 through May 31, 2022, with <br /> three (3) five (5)year option terms for approximately 11,853 square feet of the premises, to be <br /> used as an Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for single individuals who are <br /> experiencing homelessness; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant toHawai`i County Code Article 19, Section 2-120(a)(2), the <br /> Hawaii County Council may, by resolution approved by a majority of members, direct the <br /> Finance Director to negotiate the disposition of real property by leasing it to a non-profit <br /> organization, at such rentals and on such terms and conditions as deemed proper; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii County Code Article 19, section 2-120(b)provides such lease of <br /> real property to a non-profit organization may be made without notice or appraisal; now <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that <br /> pursuant to Hawai'i County Code Chapter 2, Article 9, Section 2-120(a)(2), the Director of <br /> Finance is hereby authorized to negotiate a multi-year lease (with renewal options for additional <br /> terms)with HOPE Services Hawaii, Inc., a non-profit organization, without notice or appraisal, <br /> for approximately 11,853 square feet of real property located at 34 Rainbow Drive, Hilo, County <br /> and State of Hawaii, known as the Old Hilo Hospital Complex, identified as Tax Map Key (3)2- <br /> 3-026:008. <br />
