No. 668 PLACE: Council Chambers Kailua-Kona, Hawaii TIME: 9:39 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 668, reports as follows: Communication No. 668, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth dated February 24, 2022, nominates Louis V. Daniele III to the Windward Planning Commission. Ms. Pomaika`i Bartolome, Executive Assistant to Mayor Roth, appeared in Kona Chamber to E introduce Mr. Daniele, who was also present. Mr. Daniele has been a resident of Hawaii for 30 years and a home owner in Ocean View for 16 years. He has vested interest in the long-term vision of how development should happen in Ka`u. Mr. Daniele has been employed for Ka`u Coffee Mill for the last 10 years and has an understanding of what makes Ka`u such a unique f part of our State. If confirmed, he will serve a term ending December 31, 2026. Mr. Daniele offered a summary of his experience and responded to questions from Committee Members. 1 Several Committee Members thanked Mr. Daniele for his willingness to serve. The vote was taken on the motion to move this measure to Council with a favorable recommendation and passed with eight"ayes," and Committee Member Tim Richards"absent and excused." Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 668, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Louis V.
