REQUEST: <br /> Request a resolution for a multi-year contract to engage a consultant to analyze and provide code <br /> amendments to the zoning code(HCC 25) and/or subdivision code (HCC 23). <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The overall purpose of this project is to analyze, update, and amend the Hawaii County Zoning and/or <br /> Subdivision Codes to provide for best practices in land use regulations and to ensure they are updated, <br /> consistent and dynamic. <br /> So far, funds have been identified as follows: <br /> Ordinance 2021-038, County Operating Budget FY 21-22 allocatted $150,000 to start the process. <br /> CDBG-MIT funds have been earmarked in the amount of$400,000 through Resolution 22-358, proposed Bill <br /> 22-149, and HUD Grant#B-19-UT-15-0001. <br /> The Planning Department is requesting operating budget funds in FY 22-23 in the amount of$250,000. <br /> Additional funds will be requested pending the finalization of the project scope and budget. <br /> SIGNED: DATE: <br /> Department Head <br />
