REQUEST: <br /> Pursuant to the Hawaii County Code section 2-130(a)(3)(A), Council approval is requested for a grant award <br /> of$40,000 to Destination Hilo, a 501(c)(8) organization, for expenses associated with the 2022 Hilo Bay <br /> Blast on duly 4, 2022, <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Department of Parks and Recreation would like to provide a $40,000 grant to Destination Hilo. Funds <br /> will be utilized for a 4th of July fireworks display as part of the day long Hilo Bay Blast celebration.
