Historic Preservation Division requested that an archaeological field inspection be <br /> conducted within the current project area prior to land altering activities. <br /> 25. Cultural Resources: The property does not contain any features of cultural importance <br /> and there is no history of traditional gathering associated with the property. The proposed <br /> use would not affect the exercise of traditional or customary Native Hawaiian rights in <br /> the area. <br /> 26. Public Access: There is no record of a designated public access to the shoreline or <br /> mountain areas that traverses the properties. <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 27. Access: Access to the subject property is from Kaloko Drive, a 22-foot-wide paved <br /> roadway with grass shoulders within an 80-foot right-of-way. Kaloko Drive intersects <br /> with the Mamalahoa Highway less than two miles below the property. The Department of <br /> Public Works states that direct vehicular access to individual lots shall not be from <br /> Kaloko Drive. <br /> 28. Water: County water is available to the property. According to Department of Water <br /> Supply(DWS), an existing water commitment for 6 additional units of water for the <br /> proposed development was granted until October 31, 2024. DWS also determined an <br /> updated water commitment fee, facilities charges, water system improvements and <br /> dedication requirements. (Planning Department Exhibit 4 -DWS Letter Dated <br /> October 27, 2021) <br /> 29. Wastewater System: As there is no municipal sewer system in the area, the applicant <br /> proposes to use individual wastewater systems meeting the standards and requirement of <br /> the State Department of Health. j <br /> ;i <br /> 30. Solid Waste: There is no municipal waste collection services in the County. Solid waste <br /> will be disposed of at an authorized landfill by commercial haulers or individual <br /> homeowners. <br /> 31. Essential Utilities and Services: All essential utilities and services are available to the <br /> project site. The area is served by police and fire stations in Kailua-Kana and Kealakehe, 3 <br /> approximately five miles southwest of the site. Kealakehe Elementary, Intermediate and 3 <br /> High Schools are located approximately four miles north of the property.
