The addition of the Deputy Finance Director should allow the Finance

Director to:
1. Be able to assist other departments in finance related
matters.
2. Be more active in reviewing legislative proposals.
3. Place more emphasis upon execution of Capital Projects.
4. Expend more effort in the area of purchasing, e.q.,
Standardization Committee, Chief Procurement Officer.
The Department of Finance will be required to provide more
assistance to agencies as the County begins to consider expansion of
enterprise and special revenue funds.
The proposed structure is generic because the background of a Deputy
Finance Director is unknown. Hopefully, the prospective Deputy will
be knowledgable in County government. Formal assignment of duties
and responsibilities will be determined after the background of the
deputy is known.
