REQUEST: A three year contract valued at$50,000.00 per year for a total of$150,000.00 for inspection of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) radio sites owned by the County of Hawaii to have a contracted company/person determine maintenance and repair requirements for the tower structure, components attached to the tower, equipment building or shed, power and back-up power systems, and security barriers on the site, and to provide a writen report of findings to the LMR Manager. F3. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDS }: The County of Hawaii LMR system is comprised of three dispatch facilities (Police, Fire, and alternate dispatch at Hilo EOC) and twenty-one remote sites.. The County has a maintenance contract in place for the LMR radio system hardware located at each LMR location. There is also a separate maintenance contract for the microwave system hardware which is located at many of the LMR sites. There are three other maintenance contracts supporting LMR sites, pest control, generator maintenance, and air conditioner maintenance. The LMR site infrastructure which includes towers, equipment sheds, access roads, and security systems have neither a maintenance contract nor a regular schedule of services. A well maintained infrastructure system is,essential to ensuring that First Responder radio communications are provided with uniterrupted service. This contract seeks to identify issues with LIVIR infrastructer before they become major problems that could potentially impact the system. LMR infrastructure maintenance and repairs for issues, deficiencies, or potential problems identified under this contract will be contracted on an as required basis. f ry 1 SIGNED: DATE.
