REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: November 1, 2022 Re: Comm.No. 1073/Res.No. 595-22 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo,Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:00 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 595-22,reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 595-22,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 1073 <br /> dated October 14, 2022, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one <br /> fiscal year for a multi-year lease of real property for the County of Hawai`i Department of Finance. <br /> This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement with an option to extend <br /> for two additional five-year terms, with New Kaiko`o Building, Inc., located at 120 Pauahi Street, Hilo, <br /> for approximately 12,571 square feet of office space for the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Division <br /> and other County departments. <br /> Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder asked Property Manager Hamana Ventura to provide a <br /> high-level explanation of this measure.
