i
September 29, 2022, HSAC Meeting Agenda Page ( 2 ysPTEAssprx
6Y
*
Total deposit account balances: $238,237.75
Treasurer's report adopted.
CM Kimball: Estimating a profit from the event, did lose a $5000 sponsor, Bayer
front the conference.
EE Parsons: Approx $32,500 raised in sponsorship, $2,500 raised in other sign ups.
Expenses were calculated at $10,000, but actually coming out less at approx $7000.
These are draft numbers until the expenses have been reconciled. Overall the event
was a success, we had 84 individuals registered, gave out over 30 prizes, great prizes.
Successful event.
b. County Reports:
■County of Hawaii
CM Kimball: You are experiencing the counties report, everything is going smoothly,
enjoying the breakout sessions.
CSI King: Would like to thank all those running around and helping to support the
conference.
■County of Kauai
CM Chock: End of the term for us, for bills we have been pushing for a 2% charter
amendment, for the housing revolving fund. Most of the bills are planning bills. First
in the nation for sea level rise bill, puts into policy where we are drawing lines. The
Glamping bill is back, we had passed it, but moving back to open it up to education,
including college programs to ensure there is a good exchange for activity as opposed
to short term rental. In addition to that, one more bill of interest is looking at
expanding guest houses and increasing the sizes from 500 - 800 sq ft, hopefully
making it a bit more feasible for contractors to provide additional housing. We have
crossed the threshold with guest houses as we allow kitchens.
CM King.Is a guest house for long term rental or short term.
CAVI Chock:Long term.
