Legislation related to increasing the availability of
affordable housing and infrastructure on lands administered by
the Department of Hawaiian Homelands.
CMKimball: we expect there to be bills in place, part of the reason for doing this for
the sunshine law is that if we agree for them to be as a priority we can then meet and
testify on state items by having public hearings on our legislative priorities.
Any legislation on infrastructure and development for Dep of Hawaiian Homelands
to build affordable housing.
CAVI Paltin:My understanding the DHHL is exempt from counties permitting and
zoning. Do we still need this?
'i
CM Kimball:Asking this be one of the areas that HSAC watch and that if there are
bills on that matter that we can testify in support.
CM Paltin: Thank you for clarifying, in support.
CAVI Chock:Motion passes.
Approved.
2. Legislation related to workforce development for both civil
service and green job positions.
CMKimball:Anything to do with workforce development for vacancies. All of us
have vacancies. As well as any green jobs. There was funding in the past for a green
jobs program. If it comes around again we are in a position to support that. This is
in anticipation of the pilot program having extended funding.
Ion Okudara: No comments.
