Legislation related to wastewater infrastructure funding and
programs to assist in the conversion of cesspools.
CMKimball:Anything for wastewater or cesspool conversion. We do not know what
will come forward, possibly more funding for the cesspool conversion program. We
don't pursue the Kono decision stuff, we are more about funding.
CMPaltin: has anyone been raising any questions in light of the scandal from our
Senator and any legislation that has been passed on cesspool conversion and if
anyone has taken a look on that.
CMKimball: We have not but we are doing extensive research on prioritizing
conversion areas and actual impact and when we have the results we may be
requesting some changes on conversion and it will likely take several years and some
coral reef monitoring, so it is being evaluated at that level.
CMPaltin:I have heard questions because by 2050 upcountry is nothing to do with
cesspools near the shoreline. Seems counterintuitive, some people are asking for a
second look at where this legislation originated.
CM Chock: We have not taken a look, I like the approach that Heather is looking at
so we can get clear on our priorities and I know there was a response last session
regarding the session. If that is something you are looking at we can address it also
when the session starts.
Motion passes.
Approved.
4. Legislation that will increase the availability of mental health
and substance abuse services.
