No. 22-23 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 2:40 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions, to which was referred Resolution No. 22-23, <br /> reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 22-23, transmitted by Council Member Holeka Goro Inaba, via Communication No. 23 <br /> dated November 17, 2022, awards a Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation <br /> Maintenance Fund Stewardship Grant to Kohanaiki `Ghana. <br /> This resolution would approve a grant of$20,380 to Kohanaiki `Ghana, a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization, to protect,preserve, and restore the `O`oma Beach property in North Kona, (Tax Map <br /> Key: 7-3-009-0004),pursuant to Section 10-16(h) of the Hawaii County Charter. <br /> Council Member Michelle Galimba assumed the chair from Chair Holeka Goro Inaba. Maxine Cutler <br /> from the Department of Finance explained the difference between the POMC (Public Access, Open <br /> Space and Natural Resources Commission) Fund and the Maintenance Fund and spoke highly in favor <br /> of this stewardship grant to this nonprofit. <br /> Karen Eoff, representing Kohanaiki `Ghana, was in attendance for questions.
