No. 25-23 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 2:40 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions, to which was referred Resolution No. 25-23, <br /> reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 25-23, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 26 <br /> dated December 2, 2022, authorizes the Department of Research and Development to award funds to the <br /> Hui Malama i ke Ala `Ulili. <br /> This resolution would provide grant funds of$100,000, to establish a community resilience hub in <br /> Pa`auilo to address the current and future needs for food systems, a sustainable economy, and <br /> community care. <br /> Research and Development Deputy Director Robert Agres, and Economic Development Specialist Glenn <br /> Sako came forward to explain the purpose of the grant award. <br /> Pursuant to section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Hawaii County is authorized to grant <br /> awards in excess of$25,000 to nonprofit organizations that specifically identify the organization <br /> receiving the grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in an ordinance or <br /> resolution. <br /> Your Committee on Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions is in accord with the purpose and intent of <br /> Resolution No. 25-23, and recommends its adoption. <br /> w b <br /> AYES NOES ABS EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> EVANS X <br /> GALIMBA X COMMITTEE ON LEGISLATIVE <br /> INABA x APPROVALS AND ACQUISITIONS <br /> KAGIwADA X <br /> KANEALI`I-KLEINFELDER X <br /> KIERKIEwICz X HOLEKA GORO INABA, CHAIR <br /> KIMBALL X <br /> LEE LOY X LAAC REPORT NO.: 4 <br /> VILLEGAS X ADOPTED: JAN 2 5 2023 <br />
