01. <br /> cP:1 `"of ��� '�' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII - •_ �' A:• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> -.111;4--; <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 118 23 <br /> RESOLUTION CREATING ONE (1) NEW WATER SAFETY <br /> OFFICER V AND ONE NEW (1) CLERK III POSITION FOR THE <br /> HAWAII COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, County of Hawaii was awarded funding from the State of <br /> Hawai`i Department of Land and Natural Resources to be used for costs <br /> associated with Kua Bay and Hapuna Beach ocean safety; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Department is in need of one (1) new Water Safety <br /> Officer V position and one (1) new Clerk Ill position to properly support the <br /> Fire Department's Ocean Safety Operations Branch; and <br /> WHEREAS, the grants will provide partial funding for the salary of the <br /> Water Safety Officer V position and full funding of the Clerk III position; and <br /> WHEREAS, the positions indicated above are Water Safety Officer V, <br /> SR-26 and Clerk Ill, SR-10 positions; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which <br /> appropriations have been made by the council..."; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> that one (1) new Water Safety Officer V position and one (1) new Clerk III <br /> position be created in the Hawaii County Fire Department. <br />
