Bring your colleagues to conferences, get them in the <br /> steering committees, and set them up to get involved for the future. <br /> CMRapozo: Encourage finding out who is the candidate to support. <br /> CM Kuali`i: It is not necessary to have announced at this time, anticipate that there <br /> will be another nominee soon. <br /> ED report received and approved. <br /> f. Legislative Update <br /> Jon Okudara: Retirement for police officers, any member with 25 years of service, <br /> any member would qualify rather than just police officers. SB1158, introduced in the <br /> Senate, is moving, working on adding HSAC language to this measure. Scheduled <br /> for a hearing on Wednesday. <br /> Special management bill, SB74 is moving over the two HSAC bills. The tobacco <br /> product bills, the SHAG bill is not moving but there are other versions moving. There <br /> are a number of tobacco bills primarily to do with vaping. The traffic fines bill still <br /> has time because the house bill has a single referral. The Senate bill has a double <br /> referral. <br /> ED: Request for a copy of the update to be submitted via email so we can follow up. <br /> CMKimball: Requesting approval to add the following measures to the HSAC <br /> legislative priorities: <br /> Bill for HSAC approval <br /> SB649 - Packaging Waste Reduction;Hawai`i Zero Waste Initiative Program; <br /> Packing Reduction and Reuse Program;Department of Health;Needs Assessment; <br /> Advisory Council;Packaging Waste Special Funds;Appropriation ($) <br />
