• 11r� d.:: :rl G <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI`I �'=- � STATE OF HAWAI I <br /> OF <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 235 23 <br /> RESOLUTION CREATING ONE NEW (1) BATTALION CHIEF <br /> AND THREE (3) NEW FIRE HELICOPTER PILOT POSITIONS <br /> FOR THE HAWAI`I COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Department is in need of one (1) new Battalion <br /> Chief position and three (3) new Fire Helicopter Pilot positions to properly <br /> support the Fire Department's Emergency Operations Division; and <br /> WHEREAS, these positions are necessary to transition away from <br /> contracting services and to better control the resources and staffing of this <br /> section; and <br /> WHEREAS, the positions indicated above are Battalion Chief, EM-03 <br /> and Fire Helicopter Pilot, SR-26 positions; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai'i County Charter <br /> states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which <br /> appropriations have been made by the council..."; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br /> that one (1) new Battalion Chief position and three (3) new Fire Helicopter <br /> Pilot positions be created in the Hawaii County Fire Department. <br />
