COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 306 23 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY <br />ADMINISTRATION AND/OR THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement for <br />three (3) years with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and/or the State of <br />Hawaii Department of Transportation; and <br />WHEREAS, this agreement is to receive federal funds for the County of Hawaii Safe <br />Routes to School Program based on the financial obligation of matching funds by the <br />County of Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease <br />or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal <br />year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br />or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br />granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br />connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />1. In accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes and section 10-11 <br />of the County Charter, the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to <br />execute, on behalf of the County, a three (3) year, multi-year agreement, and <br />
