WHEREAS, the Council finds that awarding a stewardship grant to the Friends of Amy <br /> B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden will allow it to continue its ongoing plant preservation, <br /> restoration of various sites and buildings as well as to create a community-based stewardship <br /> curriculum and creation of ADA pathways thoroughout the garden; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Council further finds that awarding a stewardship grant to the Friends <br /> of Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden will benefit the community-at-large by <br /> demonstrating that maintenance fund monies can be utilized to preserve the land, promote public <br /> safety, and maintain a healthy stewardship of those properties that have been acquired using <br /> Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation funding; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CONCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I,that <br /> pursuant to Section 10-16(h) of the Hawai`i County Charter, a Maintenance Fund stewardship <br /> grant shall be awarded to the Friends of Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden in the <br /> amount of$171,370.00. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 10-16(g) of the Hawai`i <br /> County Charter, funds from the stewardship grant awarded by this resolution shall be used for <br /> public safety maintenance and preservation of the Amy B.H.
