REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: January 23, 2024 Re: Comm.No. 689/Res.No. 415-24 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 415-24,reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 415-24,transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa, via Communication No. 689 <br /> dated January 4, 2024, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal <br /> year for multi-year leases for one forklift, one 3-ton dump truck, and one super duty truck with utility <br /> body and crane for the Department of Environmental Management. <br /> This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into five-year lease agreements with an approximate <br /> monthly cost of$1,600 for the forklift, $2,200 for the 3-ton dump truck, and$5,100 for the super duty <br /> truck,to be used by the Wastewater Division. <br /> Deputy Director Brenda Iokepa-Moses was available in the Hilo Chambers,while Acting Deputy <br /> Division Chief Chris Sparber and Maintenance Manager Francisco Villa were available in the Kona <br /> Chambers to answer any questions the Committee Members may have. <br /> The department provided a brief overview. <br /> Multiple Committee Members commented in support of this measure. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 415-24, and <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> Bch <br /> AYES NOES ABS !
