REQUEST: <br /> Requesting approval for an appropriations bill to increase the FY23 Emergency Management Performance <br /> Grant(EMPG)funds from the State of Hawaii by$114,750.00 for Addendum 1 and $4,000.00 for Addendum <br /> 2. Request for both new Expense Account No. and Revenue Account No. In addition, the Civil Defense <br /> Agency is requesting to waive Finance Committee review, due to the limited timeframe that we have to <br /> expend the grant funds. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The County of Hawaii was projected to receive an FY 2023 Emergency Management Performance Grant <br /> (EMPG) award by the State of Hawaii for$225,000.00. Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency submitted a <br /> supplemental request to fund the updating of the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan per FEMA CFR requirements. <br /> An additional funding of$114,750.00 was awarded by the State of Hawaii, Department of Defense, Hawaii <br /> Emergency Management Agency(HIEMA). A second addendum was awarded to fund Adobe Licenses for <br /> all Civil Defense Agency staff in the amount of$4,000.00. The FY23 grant program provides funds to support <br /> a comprehensive emergency management program able to respond to natural and human-caused hazards, <br /> homeland security related incidents, and other emergencies that may threaten the property, safety, and well- <br /> being of citizens, communities, and the environment. <br /> SIGNED: ram..- .. ..
