COUNTY OF HAWAIJ STATE OF HAWAIJ <br />.......... <br />RESOLUTION NO. 448 24 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HO'OULU LAHUI FOR <br />EXPENSES RELATING TO THE PUNA FOOD SUMMIT, A COMMUNITY <br />ACTIVATION EVENT OF REVITALIZE PUNA. <br />WHEREAS, Ho'oulu Ldhui is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to awakening <br />Hawaiian culture, values, beliefs, and lifestyle in collaboration with the community to achieve <br />unity, harmony, and total well-being; and <br />WHEREAS, Revitalize Puna is a collaborative placemaking initiative co -led by the <br />County of Hawaii and local community members, aiming to bolster Puna's recovery, readiness, <br />and resilience; and <br />WHEREAS, Revitalize Puna's community activations serve as regular opportunities for <br />Puna residents to connect with and access information, resources, and support from government <br />agencies, nonprofits, and other stakeholders; and <br />WHEREAS, Revitalize Puna's resilience commitment focuses on strengthening local <br />food systems by advancing neighborhood -level agricultural practices, increasing local food <br />security throughout the Puna region, and supporting niche -growing endeavors through value- <br />added product development; and <br />WHEREAS, Revitalize Puna will feature the inaugural Puna Food Summit at its next <br />community activation on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the William "Billy" Kenoi District Park <br />gymnasium, providing a collaborative platform for learning, discussing policy development, and <br />progressing towards a sustainable and resilient food system; and <br />WHEREAS, as the fiscal sponsor, Ho'oulu Ldhui is working in collaboration with <br />Revitalize Puna to help coordinate and support the Puna Food Summit that aims to increase <br />access to food cultivation opportunities for Puna residents; and <br />
