REQUEST: <br /> Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of Health <br /> to accept funds to hold a used tire disposal event. An ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 23-50, the <br /> operating budget for the County of Hawaii for FY 23-24 is also requested to appropriate the following <br /> revenues: <br /> 085. NEW State- Used Tire Disposal $10,000 <br /> • <br /> And to appropriate the following expenditures: <br /> 085.601.5607.NEW State - Used Tire Disposal $10,000 <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Department of Environmental Management wishes to accept a $10,000 grant from the State Department <br /> of Health to hold a free used tire collection and disposal event for residents with educational outreach that <br /> will address the environmental and public health challenges associated with tire waste.
