;�SY OF N� <br /> ........... <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII �• ='; � • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ••,1 +f,Tf pF NF.., <br /> BILL NO. 152 <br /> (DRAFT 2) <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 24 45 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5, ARTICLE 1,ARTICLE 4,AND ARTICLE <br /> 7, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION, AS AMENDED), <br /> RELATING TO PRE-APPROVED PLANS FOR RESIDENTIAL DWELLINGS. <br /> • <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 5, article 1, section 5-1-5 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 <br /> Edition, as amended) is amended by adding a new definition to be appropriately inserted and to <br /> read as follows: <br /> ""Multi-family dwelling"means any building that contains more than two dwelling <br /> units used, intended, or designed to be built, used, rented, leased, let or hired out to be <br /> occupied, or that are occupied for living purposes." <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 5, article 4, division 2, section 5-4-21 of the Hawai`i County Code <br /> 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 5-4-21. [Model-plans] Plans for [residential] dwellings; pre-approval. <br /> (a) [Medelialan] Plan pre-approval. <br /> [Model-pis] Plans for [residential] dwellings and multi-family dwellings may be <br /> pre-approved by the authority having jurisdiction. The application process for a <br /> permit that is based on [model] plans for [residential] dwellings or multi-family <br /> dwellings that have been pre-approved and filed with the authority having <br /> jurisdiction shall exclude the plan and specification review required in sections 5-4-1 <br /> and 5-4-2. This exemption shall not apply to reviews by other appropriate <br /> departments and divisions of the County and the State required pursuant to <br /> [subsection] section 5-4-5. <br /> (b) [Model home designs.] Pre-approved plans. <br /> (1) Eligible [model home designs] plans shall have no limitation on size. <br /> [Exception: <br /> n ortigarage m , be; cl„dea ] <br /> (2) ] Mirrored or reversed versions of <br /> previously approved plans,will be considered to be separate and [an] <br /> additional [model home design] plans subject to paragraph (1) of this <br /> subsection. <br /> (3) Any revisions to pre-approved plans will require resubmittal of the entire set <br /> of revised plans and documents for approval. A proposed revision to an <br /> already pre-approved plan will be considered to be a separate and [an] <br /> additional [home design] plan subject to paragraph(1) of this subsection. <br />
