Page 11 <br />1 (i) Certification through an educational program or pathway accredited by the <br />2 Midwifery Education Accreditation Council, or <br />3 (ii) Certification through the North American Registry of Midwives portfolio <br />4 evaluation process (PEP) and a midwifery bridge certificate issued by the North <br />5 American Registry of Midwives for the certified professional midwife. <br />6 B. Licensure maintained in a state that does not require accredited education, and a <br />7 midwifery bridge certificate issued by NARM; <br />8 (6) If applicable, evidence of any licenses held or once held in other jurisdictions indicating the <br />9 status of the license and documenting any disciplinary proceedings pending or taken by any <br />10 jurisdiction; <br />11 (7) Information regarding any conviction of any crime which has not been annulled or <br />12 expunged; and <br />13 (8) Any other information the department may require to investigate the applicant's <br />14 qualifications for licensure. <br />15 Section 4 - Powers and duties of the director. In addition to any other powers and <br />16 duties authorized by law, the director shall have the power and duties to: <br />17 (1) Grant permission to a person to use the title of "licensed midwife" pursuant to this chapter <br />18 and the rules adopted pursuant thereto; <br />19 (2) Adopt, amend, or repeal Hiles pursuant to chapter 91 to carry out the purposes of this <br />20 chapter; <br />21 (3) Administer, coordinate, and enforce this chapter and rules adopted pursuant thereto; <br />22 (4) Discipline a licensee for any cause described by this chapter or for any violation of rules or <br />23 refuse to license a person for failure to meet the licensing requirements or for any cause that <br />11 <br />
