REQUEST: <br />The Hawaii Police Department is respectfully requesting acceptence of a donation of a pre -trained search <br />and rescue canine, to include training and certification of the canine handier from Hawaii Island K9 <br />Association. This donation is valued at $25,000.00 <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />Hawaii Island K9 Association is a non-profit organiation that assist in supporting canine programs on Hawaii <br />Island. They recognize that the Kealakehe Police Station has been operational since 1988 and that there is <br />a growing need for a search and rescue canine in West Hawaii.
