Clayton Honma Employment History December 2016— Present Program Planner 111 Office of Aging Oversee all contracts for services for the Office of Aging. Supervise 2 program Planner 11 positions who monitors the contractors to make sure they are in compliance with the grant standards. Puts out the RFI's and RFPs and Drafts and routes the contracts for execution throughout the county. December 2012— December 2016 Director Department of Parks and Recreation Oversaw the entire Department of Parks and Recreations for the County of Hawaii. In charge of a 26 million dollar budget, 7 divisions with 430-470 employees. Also in charge of the Capitol Improvement Budget, Beach Parks, Pavilion rentals, and county cemeteries island wide. Designed and built the Kalani Shutte Waimea District Park, Billy Kenoi Pahoa District Park, Ka'u Gymnasium. Renovated and improved the Hilo Drag Strip, Municipal Golf Course, all the Equestrian Centers and Rodeo Arenas, Waiakea Recreation Center, Panaewa Covered Play Court, Gilbert Kahele Mauna Kea Park, Reeds Bay Beach Park, Richardson's Ocean Center, and the Bay Front Trails. Expanded the Alae Cemetery and put in new playground system's island wide. February 2009— December 2012 Deputy Director Department of Parks and Recreation Assisted the Director in running the Department of Parks and Recreation. Reduced the budget by 10%in 2009 and organized a 2 day furlough a month for the year. Made cuts in the budget for equipment and supplies, froze hiring of new staff and reorganized Aquatics to meet reduction demands. Used inmate program and volunteer programs to help with grass maintenance at the Zoo and beach parks. Built up the friends of the park concept for additional help. September 2002— February 2009 Accounts Manager Bacon-Universal Company, Inc. Managed the purchasing and rental of equipment and parts for customers in the construction, agriculture,turf, and government industries. Advised and provided the equipment for their current and future business needs. Also provided repair, parts and service for their equipment as well.
