This request is intended to accommodate a proposed 20-foot setback on the <br /> South and West sides of the property to create more space between the proposed development <br /> and homes on adjacent properties. Based on the preceding, we are supportive of the setback <br /> exemption request with the stipulation that the applicant be required to implement the 20- <br /> foot side yard setback on the South and West sides of the property as.proposed. <br /> Given the extreme need for affordable rental housing stock in the South Hilo area and the project <br /> site's proximity to higher density urban type land uses in the area, we support the project and <br /> have no objection to the applicant's proposed exemptions,with the stipulation discussed above. <br /> We appreciate the opportunity to provide comments.
