REQUEST: <br />A resolution to accept a donation from Ulupono Initiative LLC, a limited liability company ("Ulupono") for <br />supportive, consultive, and technical services for pursuing federal awards and assistance for the County of <br />Hawaii with an approximate value of $90,000.00. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />Ulupono is a Hawai'i-focused impact investment firm that strives to improve the quality of life throughout the <br />islands by helping our communities become more resilient and self- sufficient through locally produced food, <br />renewable energy and clean transportation choices, and better management of freshwater resources. <br />Ulupono will fund a Team to provide to the County immediate supportive, consultive, and technical services <br />for pursuing federal awards and financial assistance that provides support or stimulation to accomplish a <br />public purpose and includes grants and other agreements in the form of money or property in lieu of money, <br />by the federal government to an eligible recipient. <br />The Team's services will support County departments and agencies in their pursuit of specific federal awards <br />as well as the development of infrastructure and resources that increase the County's capacity to pursue <br />federal assistance. Entering into this MOU and accepting this resource will help the County optimize its <br />efforts and improve the County's ability to maximize federal funding opportunities. <br />SIGNED: <br />
