REQUEST:. <br /> This is a request to enter into an agreement with the University of Hawaii, Office of Research Services, for <br /> the County of Hawaii to provide a grant in the amount of$14,805.00,for College of Tropical Agriculture and <br /> Human Resources (CTAHR),to support the development and implementation of the Master Food Volunteer <br /> (MFV) Program in Hawai'i <br /> County.This initiative will train and certify volunteers to deliver place-based food and nutrition education <br /> through cooking demonstrations, local food tastings, and community outreach across all nine districts of the <br /> island. <br /> The appropriation is from Ordinance 24-32. AGRICULT1.2F 010.161.5161.22.115. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The University of Hawaii CTAHR Cooperative Extension will pilot a Master Food Volunteer program to <br /> expand food and nutrition education across Hawaii Island.
